Today I am going to Berkeley to my favorite library: The Flora Hewlett Library of the Graduate Theological Union (GTU). I have the opportunity to go there once to three times a month. This will likely be my last trip before I move to Portland, OR, in August.
This library is my favorite place to study. I study at home, at my seminary’s library, and at coffee shops more than I study there, but I like it better. It is three stories of books and journals all dedicated to biblical literature/theological studies. It is amazing!
Where do you like to study or where is your favorite place to go to study?
I don't mind a good secluded coffee shop but for whatever reason my study at church is still the best place for me. The libraries here aren't too bad but they lack a certain atmosphere.
The city library in SF is terrible for study. It is too crowded at times. GTU is amazing because there will be like 20 people in the whole three story building on a given day. I can just hide in a corner somewhere for hours. I wish I had an apartment near by!
Coffee shops are great too, but not for writing papers where you have a bunch of sources to footnote.
