In a few of the commentaries that I have read on the Book of Genesis from a Christian perspective the author has opted to say “Hebrew Bible” out of respect to Jewish readers. Interestingly enough in Walter Brueggemann’s Interpretation commentary he openly uses “Old Testament” because he thinks “Hebrew Bible” is disingenuous and that Jewish readers know what we are doing.

What are your thoughts? Do you prefer the use of “Hebrew Bible” or “Old Testament”?
