Here are a few things I am thankful for:
- God revealed as Father, Son, and Spirit, reconciling the world to himself
- Love, without which the world would be much worse
- Life, for it is but a vapor
- Music that moves the depths of one’s being
- Family, both immediate and distant
- Friends, like you because this blog would be nothing without your interaction
- Snow in the Pacific Northwest
With regard to the last, be sure to take it easy. You do not want to end up like this:
A HAPPY, BLESSED, AND SAFE THANKSGIVING WEEKEND TO YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES!
Good list! Thankfully the snow is not that bad in PDX.
Wow. Didn’t realize at first you all were in the PNW! I’m in Seattle and got to experience the “joy” of that snow last Monday. 7-hour commute that night.
Brian: Thanks! From what I could tell, Seattle got it worse.
J.D.: Wow, that is quite the commute. The funny thing about Seattle-Tacoma drivers (and I guess PNW drivers in general) is that once snow hits, people either drive like their ancestors, or they seem to think that snow/ice doesn’t affect their car’s handling and try to drive normally. Either way, the commute is lengthened exponentially. 🙂
John,
I can not agree more. I actually just moved from Illinois where a snow like this would shut down nothing and found it quite comical to see the dichotomies presented on the road that you mentioned above. There were people driving painfully slow and also those who seemed to feel as if the hills of Seattle would be no trouble in their tiny sedan. There is a youtube video in particular of people sliding down the hill in Capitol Hill that showcased the latter perfectly!
