In case you haven’t heard by now  is taking over LOL, but more importantly they just released their Google eBook App on the iphone and iPad, and Android as well.  I downloaded it and took a quick tour of it.  Much the same as other ebook readers, however they do seem to have more books available.

Quick pros and cons:

  1. Pros: you have an option to read from either the digital version (Flow Text), or Scanned Pages.  This is a great option for those of us that need to cite our references.  The Scanned text is the exact same page from the book, which includes page numbers.
  2. Cons: you can’t highlight, or add any annotations.  That kills this App

But I suspect that this is only temporary and will be corrected very soon.  Also as best as I can tell once the book is downloaded to your app you don’t need WiFi to read it.  I did a quick test and it seems to work.
