I downloaded it to my iPad, not very impressive. However if you own Accordance my understanding is that you can download all of your purchases so that is a big plus, and the number 1 reason to stick with it. As of right now, I think that OliveTree BibleReader 5.0 is much, much better and it and it also looks better. Aesthetics for me is very important. If I am going to replace my printed bible someday then they also need to look as nice as possible as well. There is a reason why I am willing to buy a nice printed bible, and why they are printed on top leather. If Accordance was my main bible software I would not want to read my bible out of it. Keep in mind that BibleReader 5.0 is also a very powerful study bible app.
Things you can’t do on Accordance:
1) Highlight
2) Cut and Paste
3) Change to paragraph mode, Vs. verse mode
4) you can’t bookmark
5) no Tags
If you are starting from scratch I would recommend BibleReader 5.0, if you have lots invested in Accordance then I would bite the bullet and stick with it, I am sure they will get better over time. They seem to be a solid developer, and Mac users seem to rave over this application on the desk top.
It should be evident by now that I love OliveTree BibleReader 5.0 and I’m trying to get a job with them 😉 JK
@Robert: Yeah, it seemed useless unless one already has Accordance. I do not so I didn’t download the app.
OliveTree should hire you for PR!
@Brian, the only problem is that they want you to live in the Pacific North West, up in your country. I’m not about to move from the Los Angeles area, I just bought my house it will be a year this month. Time does fly by!
@Robert: Congrats on the house! I am sorry it has to be in the LA area though. 😉 PDX isn’t much better though. Too rainy.
@Brian, I love LA! (hahaha) where else can you enjoy the beach, and the mountains all within an 1hr or less drive? Plus we have great weather most of the year, although we have had a lot of rain lately.
@Robert: Someone needs to love LA…that godless place! PDX is an hour away from both mountains and the ocean.
Brian, If it didn’t rain so much in Portland, it wouldn’t be so crazy beautiful. I think it is a fair tradeoff.
@Josh: This can be true, but I will wait until June to see if you say that when it is still raining! 🙂
@Brian: Its on! 🙂
