For those who enjoy the writings and lectures of Walter Brueggemann let me make you aware of a series he did titled “The Other Way” at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Cincinnati, Oh (from which our caption contest has derived). It is an examination of various Old Testament texts where the people of God must maintain their identity in the midst of empire. There is a lot that is applicable for modern Christians and many things he will say that will unnerve you in a healthy way. Here are those lectures:

I was intending to link this series to my blog this morning….I think I will still do so. I watched 3 of them yesterday and truly enjoyed him. I read some of his work while studying the Minor Prophets last year and was really impressed with what I read. I am glad to have been able to hear / watch him speak and apply his teaching to how we can apply the OT for our lives today.
I have a few video clips on my blog and was thinking last night about rearranging it so that that there were various links to individual resources. Such as Brueggemann, Fee, Peterson etc. ..
I find it interesting and refreshing that in those clips that Brueggemann stays away from the apocalyptic / end times themes of Daniel ( I am yet to listen to all the clips, so I may be wrong)
@Benno: He deals with apocalyptic thought, but I think you’ll appreciate his approach.
