Yeah, I need to start reading Barth. And it’s too late to join Prof. Kirk’s group. I’ll have to figure out a way to squeeze all this in. 😉
@T.C.: Marc and Mark are pretty big Barth advocates. I have enjoyed some of what I have read, but overall he doesn’t excite me enough for me to give him sustained attention.
Brian,
Well, while reading Peterson’s Pastor, I was reminded of Barth, “the pastor’s theologian.” I want to experience for myself. See where he leads. Perhaps I might favor him over Wright. 🙂
Brian,
I am simply amazed at your dulness toward Barth! I am not a Barth guy either fully, but to miss Barth, is to miss.. as I keep saying – A Modern Church Father! 🙂
@Fr. Robert: Maybe your admiration for Barth has gone too far? If any one man is that important then maybe you are idolizing him? 🙂
@Brian, no I don’t think so… my closest “idolizing” would be St. Paul! Then maybe Calvin? 🙂 But they simply point me theologically to Christ, and the sovereign Triune God! I actually have some real “theological” problems with Barth. But I like him nonetheless! Perhaps T.F. Torrance understands Barth the best?
Perhaps?!
LOVE THE AFTER EMMAUS FACEBOOK PAGE!
