Sometimes you just need to turn in your work. I have a bad habit of holding on to what I’ve written for far too long. Western Seminary (where I am writing my thesis) provides you with a reader who reads, corrects, and returns each chapter as it is written. Often I hold on to a chapter, re-reading and re-writing it several times. There is nothing wrong with this, per se (see thought #3), but if you are going to spend time editing your work you may as well have had someone look at it first! At least this way when you begin to redo all that you have done you have notes in red ink to guide you along the way.
