Anthony Le Donne and Chris Keith have provided a few suggestions for potential dissertation topics for those seeking advice in this area. Thus far the topics include:
“Was Jesus a disciple of John the Baptist?”
“Was the ‘anonymous Egyptian’ a copycat?”
“The Diatessaron as a Site of Counter-Memory”
It appears that there may be a semi-consistent flow of ideas from The Jesus Blog, so save it to your reader if you are planning to do doctoral work, but you don’t know what you want to study when you get there.
Which one you going to pick 😉
I’m waiting for one that fits a little better! 🙂 No, kidding, I have set forth my proposal already and it is being refined, but if I were to chose one of those listed it would be #1 or #4. I think #1 is impossible to prove, though I have great interest in the figure of John the Baptist. I think the Diatessaron is very interesting, as well as Marcion and those debates in the early church, so I think I could enjoy that one and it would be fruitful.
