Tonight as I put together a tentative schedule for the 2013 AAR/SBL Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD, I realized that I haven’t heard anything about a Bibliobloggers Gathering. Since we’re about five weeks from the event I think it’s about time we begin planning one. As far as a day is concerned it seems to me that Sunday evening makes the most sense since the Blogger and Online Publication section is from 4-6:30p Saturday evening makes the most sense because Sunday nights are when many of the various receptions have been scheduled.
Anyone want to propose a location?

it’s best – if i may say so- to contact a local restaurant or bar and ask if they have a room which the group might use to meet – gratis, assuring them that bibliobloggers are eaters and drinkers (so we aren’t just filling the room and running paying customers off). in the past, when i’ve organized the gathering that’s what i’ve done and i’ve generally been successful (though admittedly i do it in june).
I wish we would have done that. I am receiving a few location recommendations via Facebook now. Once I get an idea of where we should meet I’ll see about contact the place.
Saturday evening I have a prior commitment, and so I will have to miss it this year, alas.
I proposed on my blog that we move to calling ourselves SBLAARggers, and fully include folks from AAR as welcome to join us. http://www.patheos.com/blogs/exploringourmatrix/2013/10/sblaarggers-gathering.html
