David Wilkie’s sassy Jesus has been given a whole book thanks to IVP.  The book is divided into six main sections discussing the person of Jesus; spiritual disciplines; relationships; culture; the Church; and suffering, temptation, and comfort. In addition, there are some dedicated to seasons and special events. Each section has an introduction from the creator. Also, there are character profiles for those who want to “get to know” Jesus’ dialogue partners.

Who might enjoy this? Well, I think it makes for a great discussion starter if left somewhere visible. Youth ministers may consider placing it in a lounge where young people gather (my brother is a youth pastor and I think I’ll be passing along my copy to him). The comics may help introduce a small group lesson or even a sermon if put on a projector. Maybe you’ve read the comics online and you enjoy them. Then this book will be nice to have.

This book was provided for free by IVP in exchanged for an unbiased review.
