Christopher and Michelle Hays and their three children moved from England to Medellín, Columbia, several months ago as missionaries and educators. Christopher is a Professor of New Testament at Fundación Universitaria Seminario Bíblico de Colombia. In order to help the institution hire as many Latin American faculty members as possible the Hays rely on support from Churches in North America and Europe. As someone who has a heart for (1) theological education and (2) the developing Church in the Global South it dawned on me recently (probably the holy Spirit nudging) that I ought to try to use this blog as a means of drawing attention to their work. So, you will now see on the right hand side a button that leads readers of this blog to their website through which they can receive donations.
The small blurb about the Hays from their website is as follows:
We are a family of Christian missionaries in Medellín, Colombia, where Christopher is a professor of New Testament at the Biblical Seminary of Colombia. We partner with a team of talented scholars from Latin America and the North Atlantic, with a common vision to serve the Church of South America by training pastors and empowering a new generation of Latin American theologians. We believe that equipping Christian leaders with a first-rate seminary education is a key means of helping the Church to continue to thrive and grow, both in Colombia and throughout all of Latin America.
If you’d like to help support them in their work please consider donating here and pointing others to the button on the side of this blog.
Chris is an amazing guy, spiritually and intellectually. He has a heart for God and man, and a gift for not only deep study but also sharing his knowledge with others. I fully support what he is doing and am glad to see his work advertised here. This is a project worth investing in.
