The BioLogos Foundation has posted another video from the interview between Peter Enns and N.T. Wright. This time Wright addresses the problem of the “slippery slope” to “the left” amongst evangelicals in the United States and how this may be approached:
Also: T.C. Robinson is writing a “Wednesdays with Wright” as well. See here.
I find Wright’s answer rather odd really, for what does he know about the reality of conservative in the sense for example of what many have seen, from the position of the Royal Marine Commando’s, SAS, the American Special Forces etc. The conservative place of standing against the enemies of freedom for democracy, is really the same in both the British and the Americans. When you see and fight evil, it is also not so hard to see that same element and spirit in the political. Sadly, however, many British and Americans don’t seem able to see this in the spiritual realm, often. It does go to both ideaology & theology. Of this I am personally certain!
I also maintain, like some Catholic & Anglo-Catholic scholars (past now), that St. Paul was a “Roman” conservative, in some real sense.
See, also the Catholic, Robert Secourt’s classic book: Saint Paul, Envoy Of Grace.
